Every tenth heavy vehicle is Swedish
Each year Volvo Group (Volvo, Mack, Renault), Volvo Buses and Scania make around 350 000 heavy vehicles. This represents 10 percent of world production. In addition, Volvo Cars, Saab Automobile, Koenigsegg and Pininfarina Sweden make around half a million cars annually.

Sweden is also the home of many large international corporations with connections to the automotive business, such as heavyweights ABB, Autoliv, Haldex, Sandvik, SKF and Trelleborg. And as many as 16 of the world´s 30 largest suppliers to the automotive business have Swedish subsidiaries.

All together Sweden is one of the few countries that covers the whole value chain from research and development to production and after sales. Every tenth Swedish job is related to the automotive business and this industry stands for 10—15 percent of the export of Swedish goods.
