Long tradition of new thinking
It is difficult to imagine everyday life without Swedish inventions. If you take milk or cream in your coffee, you probably pour it from a small package shaped liked a tetrahedon (invented 1944). If you take your car to the supermarket, hopefully you put on your seatbelt (invented 1958). If you want to listen to the latest music, you may well use Spotify (invented 2008).

Sweden went through industrialization at the end of the 1880s. Since then it has produced a series of smart innovations that have signalled the start for world-leading brands — mainly within industry, medicine, communications and trade. A global survey from Interbrand shows that two brands of Swedish origin are in the top 100: H&M (ranked 21) and Ikea (ranked 28).
