Steering wheel keeps watch
BMW is testing a system in which sensors in the steering wheel monitor driver health. Pulse and blood pressure are registered and if abnormal values are detected the car may be stopped.
Sensors also react to stress levels and may then switch off cell phones and turn down the volume on the radio. The system will be of interest as society gains more and more older drivers.
